Store Launch

Following a major refurbishment of their department stores, House of Fraser approached Clownfish to help them reopen in style. From an initial conversations about a photobooth, the brief quickly snowballed into full-blown event production - as it often does when our team gets its creative head on!

The Brief

Top of the House of Fraser team’s wishlist: wow factor
They wanted customers to be enthralled from the moment they approached the store, then welcomed into a light, bright, colourful shopping wonderland. Think Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory full of make-up, fragrance, and fashion.

Design Concept

The events were scheduled for the end of October, so an autumnal theme seemed to tie in nicely: something warm, fun and inviting with a unique, non-tacky nod to Halloween. We also made fantastic use of House of Fraser’s bold and bright ‘Christmas is coming for you’ creative concepts - a riotous swirl of hot pink, blue and yellow incorporated into every element of production design.

  • Core Lighting Colour Point spotlights to paint each store-front pink and create spectacular pavement appeal
  • A glam fuschia carpet stretching right out into the street for that A-list experience
  • A bespoke gourmet toffee apple cart to bring a little bit of autumn inside, with handmade flavours like hundreds ‘n’ thousands (pink, obviously), popping candy and toasted coconut
  • Bar stations (some branded, some illuminated in fluoro pink) serving complimentary cocktails and mocktails
  • A branded photobooth with a stock of 3 silly props to capture, print, and share shoppers' moments and memories
