To be honest, it has been Christmas in the fishtank since we first starting taking festive bookings back in August… But with only a couple of days to go until the big man in red squeezes himself down our chimneys, we’re enjoying the fact that the majority of office parties are done and dusted and its almost time for us to put our feet up for a while.

Clownfish has had another cracking year. Belinda joined us as Head of Event Hire in the summer, shortly followed by Jonny in the Events Team and Patrick, our new Head of Technical. Our client list grew to include British Airways, House of Fraser, David Lloyd and Waitrose and we have really enjoyed getting to know them whilst helping them put on some great events. Read about the bespoke store re-launch project we worked on for House of Fraser here.

Our warehouse shelves are well-stocked with lots of new fun stuff, including a clever two-way Mirror Booth, the extreme fun Dash ‘n’ Grab inflatable and a state-of-the-art, eight-lane Scalextric. We also invested in an awesome synthetic ice skating rink, which has provided plenty of winter wonderland-style entertainment across London in the past few weeks.

So what’s in store for 2017? The JWT Intelligence Innovation Group’s report, The Future 100: Trends and Change to Watch in 2017, points to augmented reality (AR) as a key emerging trend – Pokémon Go-style experiences, for example. Our Greenscreen photobooths already tick this box (we like to stay a step ahead!) but over the Christmas break we’ll be pondering ways to build on this even further. Keep an eye out for our new and improved It’s a Knockout game too: designed and made just for Clownfish, we’re pretty sure there’s nothing else like it!

For now though, its time for us to head off for a well-earned rest. Our offices will be closed from 23rd December and will reopen on Thursday 5th January. From all of us at Clownfish, a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and fun-filled New Year!
