Love Wimbledon’s annual Winter Wonderland event kicked off the Christmas season with a bang at the end of November, with Clownfish on hand to make sure everyone had the maximum amount of festive fun possible.

Part of the main shopping area was closed to traffic so that thousands of visitors could enjoy live performances, street entertainment and fireworks as they strolled through the streets and browsed the market stalls. The elves in the Clownfish warehouse dug out three of our Christmas favourites for us to bring along, including our Rodeo Reindeer and Snowboard Similator rides – always a hit with big and little kids alike. We also took the Snow Globe Experience, because its a truly magical way to capture family moments at this time of year. Hundreds of metres of festoon lighting added extra twinkle and a couple of snow machines set up on a balcony above street level helped to bring a little bit of Narnia to SW19.

Behind the scenes, our technical team installed staging, sound, power and light for the entire event, ensuring that the ice-carving experts could plug in their chainsaws and that the candy floss machines kept up with demand. Thanks to a wireless radio link (fancy!), we were also able to help our favourite local panto star Matthew Kelly launch the fireworks display from 150m away.

All in all it was a brilliant afternoon that has left us feeling very festive indeed. We’re off to dig out our Christmas jumpers and munch satsumas – get in touch if we can add some Clownfish magic to your next event!
