How We Do Things
It’s easy to talk about ‘culture’ but another to live and breathe it.
So we’ve plastered our three cultural beliefs everywhere (in our team room, in the sales department, in our warehouse). Because these aren’t just some fluffy statements that our marketing team came up with, they’re the beliefs we live by every day.
Be entrepreneurial
We seek out opportunities in every meeting, at every desk and on every event. Our business is built on this entrepreneurial energy, and it’s what keeps us going and growing.
- If you’re 80% sure, that’s enough. Go for it.
- There’s always a solution – don’t stop until you’ve found it.
- Always ask ‘is there a better way?’.
- Be flexible and open to change, especially when it feels hard.
- Bounce back fast from setbacks. Reframe failure as a learning experience.
- Seek out your own ideas and opportunities – don’t wait to be asked.
- Start brainstorms with ‘what would the best in the world do?’.
- Get out of the ‘comfy chair’ and set ambitious targets.
- Be the best to inspire your colleagues. Never settle for average.
- Obsess over customer experience.
Accept accountability
The absence of trust is the biggest stumbling block to collective success in any high-performing team. So accountability is built into everything we say and do.
- Be trustworthy – stay true to your word and stick to commitments.
- Leave places better than you found them – our buildings, venues, the planet.
- Be autonomous – own your part in our collective success.
- Be truthful about your actions, intentions and results.
- Don’t confuse activity with productivity. Focus on what really makes the difference (80:20).
- Set meeting agendas and stick to time limits.
- Welcome challenge from your colleagues and own your mistakes – reframe these as personal development.
- Admit when you’re overstretched and ask for help.
- Treat others the way you’d like to be treated – team, clients, venue staff… everyone.
- Look after yourself so you can look after others – physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, professionally.
Have fun
We exist to make people smile. And we can only do that if we’re smiling too. So we prioritise our team happiness and enjoyment. After all, we spend more time with our colleagues than we do with anyone else in our lives.
- Don’t take yourself too seriously.

- Happiness is infectious; harness the power of a smile.
- Always be there for your colleagues – pull together in the difficult moments.
- Celebrate success (big or small) together.
- Get involved and contribute to team socials, birthdays and friendships.
- Radiate positive energy, and call out negativity.
- Respect confidentiality among your colleagues.
- Be sensitive to the different ways we all define ‘fun’.
- Make sure you have energy left to enjoy life outside work.
