“When I was at school, I wasn’t particularly academic or sporty or crafty, and I didn’t know how to fit in really”
“I knew I was good at understanding how the technical elements of something worked together however. When I was 13, I started setting up speakers at parties, creating photo slideshows to celebrate big birthdays and playing around with lighting in gardens. Helping people create more memorable events, and generally just experimenting with tech gave me a taste for what I could do with my life.”
“I was very lucky to be inspired by my Dad’s work ethic and the encouraging words of my teacher Mr Jenkins, so when I finished school at 18, I took the plunge and started Clownfish Events.”

Introducing Mentoring with Matt
What is it?
Mentoring with Matt is a 90-minute mentoring session with Matt Turner. Sessions include a tour of Clownfish HQ in Chessington (complete with a go at some of our renowned arcade games!) and a one-to-one ‘Ask-Me-Anything’ chat with Matt.
Who is it for?
Mentoring with Matt is for you if you’re between 18 and 30 and:
– You’re starting out in the working world but you feel a bit lost and don’t know what you want to do.
– You want to start your own business but don’t have a clue where to start.
– You’re running a business but feeling a bit stuck.
How does it work?
There’ll be one 90-minute slot available every week. If you’re swimming around in circles and you think Matt could help, pop your details below and we’ll be in touch!
Applying for Mentoring with Matt
“I reached out to Matt to see if there were any work experience opportunities for my son in the summer. Matt couldn’t take on anyone under 18 however Matt didn’t stop at “no”. Matt really believes in supporting young people and helping them finding their way. So Matt invited Olly to Clownfish, to show him around and share his experience of starting a business, building a company and more importantly, building a team. “Olly learned so much in a short space of time, not just from what Matt said but from witnessing how Matt conducted himself.”

We can’t guarantee every applicant a slot, but we will reply to each and every one of you individually.
Will I need to bring anything?
Nope, just your lovely self (although we’ll never say no to biscuits).
Do I need to pay anything?
No. These mentoring sessions are completely free of charge, entirely for your benefit.
Can I still apply if I’m 16 or 17?
Yes, of course. We’d love to offer guidance even if you are under 18. You just need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
