The Conundrum
Meet David, PR and Social Media Manager for Loaf, laid-back furniture made for loafing. David needed help with Loaf’s annual summer party, a chance for their brilliant internal team to get together AND raise money and awareness for their charity partner St Mungo’s.
They wanted a laid-back, joyful vibe, full of personality (just like their sofas). But without an in-house Event Manager, David and a small internal team were juggling the event alongside their day jobs.
For us it was about making everything as fuss-free as possible because we are doing that alongside our full-time jobs.

David was looking for a creative partner to take the hassle out of the event and act as an extension of their team. You could say he needed us to become ‘part of the furniture’…

The Solution
We started by getting comfy with Loaf’s culture (cheerful and cheeky) and the event brief (a relaxed start gradually shifting to a lively and celebratory evening).
The Loaf team hadn’t seen each other for a while and wanted a good old “knees up”, but David had also thought carefully about building the energy as the day progressed and making sure there were activities for all personalities and energy levels.
So we mixed competitive, high-energy moments like Roll-a-Ball Racing and Strike-a-Light with more sociable experiences like Crazy Golf, LED Table Football and giant garden games. Roaming performers added surprise and energy throughout the day, while live music created a natural build in atmosphere as the sun went down.
We carefully planned the layout and the schedule to keep guests moving and to make sure areas didn’t feel static or overlooked. And to free up David’s time, we managed timelines, suppliers and logistics in the run up, as well as hosting all the stalls and games on the day.
We didn’t realise how much involvement Clownfish would have in the day itself…when we were playing the games, Clownfish were playing it with us and making it competitive and really fun!

The Result

Loaf’s summer party was just, well, loafly! We transformed Battersea Park into a joyful summer party not just for the guests but also for the organisers too.
“The process was super easy. Clownfish understood our budget, our company and why were doing the event. I loved the day… I could actually enjoy it.
If you are doing this alongside another job, you can go to Clownfish and tell them exactly what you’re looking for; the themes, the concept, the budget, and they make everything really simple and easy and take the stress out of it.

The event was such a success that David asked to work with us the following year (and did us a Loafly video testimonial too).
