Clownfish Events is a bespoke event management company comprising a permanent, carefully selected team of event planners, account managers, technical crew, professional party people and brand ambassadors.

Our job (our passion, in fact!) is to deliver unforgettable events. We do that by bringing your ideas to life, taking care of every last detail and making sure your guests have the time of their life.

    Matt Turner

    Managing Director

    Matt founded Clownfish Events in 2009. A consummate event professional, his ambition and energy remain the driving forces of the business today. 

    Clownfish has taken Matt from Chessington to China (and everywhere in between) on a quest for new and innovative event ideas for clients like Apple, Google and YouTube. 

    He is a lover of music, people and food - and on the rare occasions he is not working you’ll find him enjoying a bit of sea air on the South Coast.

    Alasdair Bell

    Operations Director

    Alasdair was Clownfish’s second employee and has been with us since the start. 

    He is responsible for ensuring that our ever-growing operation runs smoothly.  If he’s not out and about overseeing events, you’ll find him in front of his dual screens with a Nespresso.

    Outside work, he spends his time looking after four hens, curating a fine whiskey collection and preparing to marry his fiancée in 2018.

    Hannah Sheppard

    Events Director

    Hannah’s creative flair first sprang to life at the Chelsea Harbour Design Centre, where she worked alongside many an interior designer.

    She transitioned this love of design into creating beautiful event spaces and thrives on the challenge of making them sparkle. With a strong eye for detail and a passion for outstanding service, her events are always flawlessly executed.

    On days off, Hannah loves nothing more than a beautiful countryside walk with her family and crazy dogs in tow.

    Sarah Bankdurka

    Commercial Director

    Sarah spent her life before Clownfish learning how airports and airlines work at BAA and British Airways. A few flights and charity roles later, she landed here with us.

    She has a passion for outstanding service and design and is never happier than when managing projects, streamlining processes and looking after clients. 

    Sarah loves good food, wine, mountain air and keeping up with her labrador.

    Sara Sinclair

    Office Manager & PA to MD

    During the summer of 2017, Sara swapped luxury limousine bookings for a giant Scalextric when she moved out of the financial services sector to join Clownfish. 

    Sara is MD Matt’s right hand woman and has the challenging task of organising his busy schedule. You’ll usually find her in the office, but every now and then she loves changing her heels for boots and getting stuck in at events too. 

    If Sara’s not at work, she’ll be enjoying brunch in various places around London; chilling with best friends Ben and Jerry; or up in Derbyshire getting some well needed country air and R&R.

    We first met Kieran when he was midway through his A-levels. A year later, with a new-found passion for events, he joined us permanently to become part of Clownfish’s journey.

    When it comes to looking after our kit and warehouse, Keiran is the man. You may see him out on the road or managing an event, but behind the scenes he is the person that makes sure all our equipment is in tip-top condition and ready for your next big occasion.

    When he’s not at work, he likes to spend his time in the gym… but keep your eyes peeled and you might spot him on a Boris Bike with his friends.

    Matt has been a professional actor on stage and screen for many years, but he’s widely known for his notable role as Guy from the Over 50's Life Insurance Ad.

    He brings bucketloads of enthusiasm and personality to his work in events and is a true fun face of Clownfish.   

    Matt is equally at home in hip East London as in the vastness of America; loves a homely roast dinner just as much as a buffet of all the world’s cuisines;  and is happy kitted out in traditional smart suits or streetwear. He considers himself a cross-culture traveller and loves change in all it’s varieties.

    Will Alder

    Senior Event Manager

    Will has worked in live events and theatres all over the world. He has managed events at venues including Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament and St Paul’s Cathedral (and that was just one week!). He has even founded his own festival, a pop-up live Advent calendar.

    Will loves bringing together all the different elements of an event and making sure everything is perfect. He believes there’s no substitue for attention to detail and a positive attitude.

    He also loves a good walk in the countryside, preferably by the sea, with a pub lunch and an open fire at the end.

    Izzy joined Clownfish in 2016. As self-appointed Queen of Words, she is responsible for making sure that our communications are always up to scratch. 

    In her time, she has written marketing fluff for a plethora of companies and brands - all great preparation for the fish puns she now faces on a daily basis.

    Ali Toyn

    Event Team

    Ali started out at Clownfish during his gap year and has continued working with us whilst he studies for a degree in Electronic Engineering.

    He loves being part of a people-focussed team and enjoys working on events as well as maintaining Clownfish’s vast array of equipment. 

    Ali is a self confessed tech geek and spends his spare time tinkering with computers and networking.

    Jacob Doyle

    Event Team

    Jacob joined Clownfish in 2013. His degree in Technical Theatre means that he is usually found behind a sound desk or scaling a lighting rig. 

    He has worked his magic on a huge number of our events - including press conferences, fundraisers and performances - and is passionate about making sure that every technical requirement is taken care of. 

    When he’s not at work, Jacob loves rock climbing and building electronic circuit boards… although perhaps not at the same time.

    Jack Cantelo

    Event Team

    Jack started working for Clownfish whilst he was studying for a degree in Primary Education. He fell head over heels in love with our brand and our people and hasn’t been able to stay away since!

    Jack loves driving our vans, so you’ll often find him out and about on the road. He also injects a healthy dose of energy, fun and enthusiasm into our events and is well known for his beaming smile. 

    When he’s not at Clownfish, Jack is travelling the globe and adding to his bizarre collection of road and traffic signs, vintage number plates and other odd things.
