Wedding

When our good friends Jess and Sam got married in Croatia last summer, the Clownfish team was there to ensure that every beautifully thought-out detail was taken care of.

Organising a wedding is a big undertaking. Organising a wedding abroad is huge. But as soon as Jess and Sam first set eyes on the island of Sveti Nikola, they were hooked – and we set about helping them make their dream wedding a reality.

Getting the party started

When guests travel a long way to help you celebrate, it’s nice to give them a little something extra. The wedding weekend began with a boat trip, so that friends and family from both sides could get to know each other better. We provided some games to break the ice and entertain every generation – and just like that, new friends were made and two families joined.

Design concepts

The wedding ceremony itself took place on a lawn overlooking the sea, with Sam and Jess making their vows under an arch of olive branches. Against the opulent island backdrop, their chosen design concept – a balance of contemporary and rustic in simple white and green – felt natural and fresh. Jess’ own creative touches were everywhere – from the hand-finished table settings to her brilliant idea for a seating plan.

Sunset and starlight

For the evening reception, we lit the space with strings of festoon bulbs, which created a magical atmosphere as guests dined under a stunning sunset. It can be difficult to hear speeches outdoors, so a good quality sound system was essential. We also set up a dance floor and cruise tables for a party that continued into the small hours.

Home or away, the Clownfish team will help you make it a day – or days! – to remember.

Steal Sam & Jess’ Style…

The couple scoured social media to find the funniest photos they could of their guests, for an innovative take on the traditional seating plan.

The natural colour scheme of sage, white and gold complemented the pink villa backdrop and gave everything an elegant, Mediterranean feel.

Jess ordered laser-cut names for every guest, and then hand painted them all to match their theme.

Even the youngest guests were made to feel special, with bespoke gift boxes full of fun stuff like bubbles, colouring books and games.
