The Conundrum

Meet Emily, Senior Rewards and Recognition Coordinator for a multi-service utility provider. And chief motivator for their fabulous sales partners.

Emily was responsible for organising Power House; a brand new summer festival to be held at Knebworth House & Barns to celebrate the success of a whopping 650 self-employed sales partners. For the first time ever, the annual sales event was exclusive, which meant everything was down to Emily.

With a huge event to organise and a tiny team of two, Emily needed a powerhouse team to make this epic Power House party happen.

It was a big project and we have a very small team, so we needed someone to bring our vision to life. We had the venue, an idea of what we wanted and a rough idea of timings, but we needed help to turn it all into a feasible festival.

The Solution

Emily wanted to make the event all about the partners and make guests feel special. We believe everyone has an invisible post-it note stuck to their forehead saying “Just Make Me Feel Special” so this event was right up our street.

Clownfish went out of their way to make sure everything was exactly what we wanted, and they came up with great suggestions as well. They 100% know what they’re doing.

To make the most of the beautiful Knebworth House and Gardens, we treated the event like a journey throughout the site, using the outside areas for drinks receptions then moving into the barns and courtyard for the main event.

And because Knebworth is famous for gigs and concerts, music took centre stage, starting with our resident Clownfish band followed by a Spice Girls tribute act and ‘finale’ing with an Oasis tribute band.

The Clownfish festival lineup:

✔️ AV (stage, sound and lighting)
✔️ Event creative (bespoke stage branding custom flags and signs)
✔️ Entertainment (roaming acts, glitter makeup artists and 3 bands including the Clownfish band)
✔️ Funfair rides
✔️ Street food
✔️ Event management (managing the whole shebang)

The Clownfish team are so easy going, friendly and accommodating. We felt we could ask them anything and everything – nothing was too much trouble and they always went and found the best possible solution.

The Result

The event couldn’t have gone better. The sun shone all day (although we had a plan B just in case bad weather crashed the party) and the feedback was incredible. In fact, Emily said it was some of the best feedback they’d ever had for an incentive.

Feedback was really, really positive and some guests said it was the best incentive event they’ve ever experienced. We had loads of lovely emails and messages from everyone saying it was just the best event.

Even one of the coaches arriving late wasn’t enough to dampen spirits; we simply tweaked the running order last minute so the group photo could still happen without impacting timings for the main stage.

Clownfish gave us the reassurance that everything would run smoothly. It was amazing to see everything come together on the day, especially the staging which we’d not seen. They brought our vision to life and exceeded our expectations.
